City of Volos Museum
The City of Volos Museum is housed in the former Papantos tobacco warehouse on 17, Feron Street, at Palea, Volos.
The ground floor houses temporary exhibition and event venues, a shop, and a reading room. Extant sections of water pipes dating back to the mid-Byzantine period (6th–7th century AD) are on view underneath the temporary exhibition venue. The museum opened in December 2014, with the major temporary exhibition Volos – Nea Ionia: So Close – So Far, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Nea Ionia refugee settlement.
The permanent display Volos 10 + Stories was inaugurated on 17 May 2019.
